Police said a 3-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the hand Tuesday, the Indianapolis Star reported.
The child’s father told police that the girl retrieved the gun from a coach area before shooting herself in the hand, according to the Star.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Sgt. Kendale Adams said in a news release that the father and the girl were the only two present at the time of the shooting and detectives corroborated the father’s version of events. No arrest was made, although Child Protective Services had been notified.
