Republican megadonor Charles Koch said he’s realized he does agree with Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in an op-ed published in the Washington Post on Thursday evening.
Koch wrote that “policies and regulations” favored by both parties “perpetuate a cycle of control, dependency, cronyism and poverty.”
Koch said of Sanders:
The senator is upset with a political and economic system that is often rigged to help the privileged few at the expense of everyone else, particularly the least advantaged. He believes that we have a two-tiered society that increasingly dooms millions of our fellow citizens to lives of poverty and hopelessness. He thinks many corporations seek and benefit from corporate welfare while ordinary citizens are denied opportunities and a level playing field.
I agree with him.
Koch said in November he would likely not back any primary candidate. He again said in the Post he is still looking for a candidate to earn his “enthusiastic support.”
Charles Koch’s slick disinformation campaign – where he argues that up is down, that black is white and that he’s not just out to stack the deck even more in favor mutli-billionaires’ ass — makes me want to vomit.
He also hopes Bernie is the Dem nominee.
"…both parties “perpetuate a cycle of control, dependency, cronyism and poverty.”
Left unsaid is that that is EXACTLY the way Charlie wants it. He will, therefore, support a candidate that agrees with that… in other words a TeaBagger.
Koch went on to say, “And I’ll do everything in my power to deregulate everything because everyone should have a level playing field…to build energy companies, destroy the environment, and crush the little people in the name of…a level playing field. It’s good for America when everyone has equal opportunity.”
Exactly. He’s just screwing with the Left trying to give them a huge head fake while sort of convincing Indies that he’s not really one of Satan’s minions. Surprised he didn’t end his screed with “Vote Sanders!”.
