Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), whose husband was killed and son injured in a 1993 shooting spree, said on Wednesday that the time for stricter gun control laws has finally come in the wake of the Newtown, Conn. elementary school shooting.
“This time is different because now we have a president who is standing behind us,” McCarthy told reporters at a press conference.
