The Black Conservatives Fund, a political action committee that aims to boost African American conservative candidates, called on Republican congressional candidate Carl DeMaio (CA) to quickly fire his campaign manager.

That call came in response to a story in The Washington Examiner that reported that Tommy Knepper, DeMaio’s campaign manager, suggested a way to spot a opposition research tracker is if they are young or African American.

“We just want the campaign manager. And we want that done very very soon. I think if it’s not done by Monday you’ll see the PAC get active and I don’t know what we’ll do,” Ali Akbar, a senior advisor to the advisory board for the group told TPM on Friday. Akbar added that the group doesn’t support DeMaio’s Democratic opponent.

“But I think you’ll see us get very vocal,” Akbar said.

The group also tweeted that Knepper should be fired.
