Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, on Sunday called on House Republicans to pass immigration reform.

“On immigration we’re saying to the House of Representatives, which is dominated by the Republicans, you guys gotta get your act together. This is the best chance we’ve had in fair and just immigration reform,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “It’s in your lap and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. And we’re not going to let you off the hook.”

Dolan also reiterated his views on the health care law, noting that while he supports universal health care, he thinks the law goes too far on issues like contraception.

“We’re for universal, comprehensive, life-affirming health care,” he said. “This isn’t comprehensive because it’s excluding the undocumented immigrant, it’s excluding the unborn baby.”
