House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) doesn’t appear to have called tea partier David Brat, who defeated Cantor in the Republican primary for the 7th Congressional District.

Spokespeople for Cantor and Brat’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TPM.

Brat’s victory over Cantor was one of the biggest election surprises of the last few years.

“Cantor is the first to lose a renomination bid as a sitting House Majority Leader after 55 successful attempts since the creation of the office in 1899,” the University of Minnesota’s Eric Ostermeier said in response to Cantor’s loss.
