The National Federation of Independent Business’s political arm launched a major ad buy Monday in the Ohio Senate race, spending $1 million to support Republican nominee Josh Mandel in the race against Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.

The group has a one-minute ad, as well as a 30-second version, staring business owner Claudia Kovach of Youngstown, Ohio declaring, “We’re trying to revitalize manufacturing, and to do that you need less regulation,” and calling for more coal plants and cheap energy.

An announcer concludes the ad: “Vote for someone who will support Ohio’s small businesses — not Washington bureaucrats. Vote for Josh Mandel for U.S. Senate.”
