Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder currently holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, has been sent an extradition notice by the local Metropolitan Police, according to the BBC. The notice, which Scotland Yard claimed was “standard procedure,” said that Assange is to report to the police station at a time “of [the police’s] choosing.”

Assange has been stationed in the Ecuadorian embassy since last week and is seeking diplomatic asylum to prevent extradition to Sweden, where he’s been accused of rape and assault. Scotland Yard says Assange received the notice because he’s in breach of his bail conditions.
