Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law a bill expanding the state’s Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act on Monday– a move that will provide more than 300,000 low-income Arizonians with health insurance.
Arizona is now the 21st state to expand Medicaid under the ACA and Brewer is the second Republican governor to push expansion through a GOP-controlled legislature.
After she signed the legislation into law, Brewer sent out this tweet along with the following picture.
This was the right thing to do for #AZ. Proud to sign #Medicaid Restoration into law this morning. pic.twitter.com/t6SAK2BrLQ
