Boston Bombing Suspect Spent Six Months In Russia Last Year

The suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings who was killed in an early Friday morning firefight with police flew from New York City to Russia last year, NBC 4 New York reported. 

According to records obtained by NBC 4, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26-year-old suspect, flew out of John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to Sheremetyevo, Russia on on Jan. 12, 2012. He returned on July 17. 

Investigators are trying to determine if he received terrorist training during the six months while he was in Russia.
