Bob Dole Likes Nearly Every GOP Presidential Candidate — Except Cruz

Bob Dole — former senator, congressman, presidential and vice presidential candidate — told ABC News on Wednesday evening that he likes "nearly all" the Republican candidates.

"There are a lot of good candidates. I like nearly all of them," Dole said.

Then he whispered: "Except Cruz."

Despite the tepid across-the-board endorsement, Dole ultimately threw his support behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on Wednesday. Dole sought the Republican presidential nomination twice against Bush's father, George H.W. Bush, before he led the Republican ticket against eventual President Bill Clinton in 1996.

"I think he's the most qualified. We need somebody with experience," Dole said of the younger Bush.
