Fox News’ token liberal host Bob Beckel used a racial slur Thursday on “The Five” to refer to Chinese hackers.
“The Chinese are the single biggest threat to the national security of the U.S.,” Beckel said. “They have been, they will be and they can wait, they’re very patient. You know what they just did? As usual, we bring them over here and we teach a bunch of Chinamen — uh, Chinese people — how to do computers. They go back to China and they hack into us, right?”
Beckel then made a vulgar arm gesture to drive his point home. Beckel’s co-hosts Greg Gutfeld and Eric Bolling were shown shaking their heads.
“That is gonna end up on ‘The Soup,'” co-host Andrea Tantaros laughed.
“Really, shouldn’t they be worried about these people?” Beckel continued. “There’s billions of them and all they do is hack into our stuff. They send us cheap toys, all of which got lead in them and kill kids.”
Viewers quickly expressed their displeasure with Beckel on Twitter:
Bob Beckel just referred to “Chinamen” on The Five. No, really. Really.

It wouldn’t be the first time Beckel has used a slur to refer to Asians. In an attempt to avoid sounding racist, he once explained that in his opinion “rednecks” could be either “blacks,” “whites” or “Chinamen.” He’s also been reprimanded by his “The Five” co-hosts for saying that his eyes looked “Oriental.”
