O’Reilly: I’m Liberal On Some Issues, My Show Isn’t Partisan

Jorge Ramos interviewed Bill O'Reilly and questioned him about his sensitivity to criticism and his partisanship.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly took issue this week with the suggestion that he’s a partisan, arguing that he simply comes at topics from his own point of view.

O’Reilly made the comments during an interview with Fusion’s Jorge Ramos, part of which was posted online Monday as a preview of a longer interview with the Fox personality.

Ramos asked O’Reilly whether he was sensitive about recent comments comedian Jon Stewart made about him on “The Daily Show.”

“If it’s fair criticism, I don’t think I’m sensitive,” O’Reilly said. “If it’s unfair, then I am.”

Ramos brought up O’Reilly’s comments about how “The Daily Show” is a “partisan-driven program” that shouldn’t be believed. Ramos pointed out that O’Reilly’s show is itself a “partisan-driven program.”

“Different deal,” O’Reilly said. “Um, my show is my point of view. It’s not a party, politics or anything like that. It’s what I believe. Alright? So if you want to say I’m a partisan on certain issue, okay, I’m not gonna argue with that.”

O’Reilly said he was liberal on certain issues and conservative on others, which Ramos took issue with. “I’ve never heard anyone calling you liberal,” Ramos said.

O’Reilly chalked it up to Ramos not listening and proceeded to discuss why he took personal offense to “The Daily Show” comments.

“What Stewart did was he took my remarks and tried to tell his audience that I was callous and didn’t care about the teenager who was shot dead in Ferguson,” O’Reilly said. “And I just showed the audience that wasn’t true. And I ran three or four clips that proved my case. So, all I have to do is correct the record rather than be sensitive. I’m just trying to get the truth out there.”

  1. He’s a pinhead on ALL issues. Definition of a pinhead? can’t see the forest for the trees.

  2. Rupert’s ego=Bill O. They both should be deported.

  3. Yeah, Bill isn’t a mouthpiece of the GOP. He’s a mouthpiece for old white bigots who always vote GOP. Or, I’m sorry, their “point of view”.

  4. How bad has it gotten for conservatives that even Bill’o doesn’t want to associate?

  5. If he is liberal, then he is also a failure. OK, we’ll just stick with failure and call it good.
