Political satirist Bill Maher on Tuesday dismissed reality television star Donald Trump’s lawsuit against him, calling the real estate mogul “a pop reference from the 80s.”

During an interview with late night host Conan O’Brien, Maher likened his feud with Trump to having a quarrel with an iconic character from the popular 1980s television show “Dallas.”

“He’s not even a real person,” Maher told late night host Conan O’Brien. “It’s just like a pop reference from the 80′s. It’s like having a spat with J.R. Ewing.”

In his lawsuit against Maher, Trump is accusing the comedian of failing to fulfill his end of a bet made on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last month. Maher joked to Leno that he would pay $5 million to charity if Trump could prove that he isn’t the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan” — a riff on Trump’s obsession with President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Trump subsequently produced his birth certificate and filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court for breach of contract.
