Former President Bill Clinton is the star of a new ad released Wednesday in the Washington state gubernatorial race, with Democratic candidate Jay Inslee’s campaign simply replaying video of Clinton speaking on his behalf at a campaign event in September.
“Jay Inslee has an economic strategy, based on clean energy, agriculture, aerospace. This is not rocket science, but it is great economics,” Clinton is shown saying, with Inslee sitting near the side of the podium. “Put this state right at the front of the line in bringing America back into the future business, with Jay Inslee as governor.”
The PollTracker Average currently shows Inslee, a former congressman, leading Republican state Attorney General Rob McKenna by a margin of 46.9 percent to 43.2 percent.
