Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday encouraged lawmakers to worry more “about the survival of our children” rather than their own political survival, and warned of a “moral price to pay for inaction.”
“If you’re concerned about your political survival, you should be concerned about the survival of our children,” Biden told an audience at a conference on gun violence in Danbury, Conn. “And guess what? I believe the price to be paid politically will be to those who refuse to act, who refuse to step forward because America has changed on this issue. You should all know the American people are with us. You all should know there’ a moral price to pay for inaction.”
