Vice President Joe Biden plans to skip the summer Democratic National Committee meeting this week, and by extension, the chance to address its members ahead of his potential third presidential run, according to Politico.

A committee official confirmed to Politico on Sunday night that the five confirmed Democratic candidates will be at the Minneapolis gathering, which is set to begin Thursday, but Biden has not accepted his open invitation.

“The president and vice president always have an open invitation for DNC meetings. He would of course be invited as a candidate if he were to become one,” a DNC official told Politico.

This comes after reports that Biden returned to Washington to meet with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) while contemplating the viability of a presidential run.
