Vice President Joe Biden told reporters on Monday that he was “not committing to anything” but wouldn’t rule out a 2020 run for president, because “what the hell, man.”

Asked by reporters if he plans to run again, Biden said, “Yeah, I am. I’m going to run in 2020.”

“For what?” a reporter asked.

“For president!” Biden responded, amid laughter from the press. “What the hell, man.”

“We’re going to run with that,” NBC News’ Kelly O’Donnell warned him.

“That’s okay,” Biden replied. “That’s okay.”

Another reporter asked Biden to clarify whether he was serious.

“I’m not committing not to run,” he said. “I’m not committing to anything. I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening.”
