Vice President Joe Biden provided further confirmation Thursday that Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down in eastern Ukraine.

“We don’t have all the detail yet. I want to be sure of what I say. Apparently, have been shot down. Not an accident. Blown out of the sky,” Biden said during a speech at the Netroots Nation conference in Detroit.

An unnamed U.S. official told multiple media outlets that the passenger jet was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.

Both Ukrainian and pro-Russian forces have denied responsibility for the crash.

  1. So when the separatists earlier shot-down a Ukrainian AN-26 and Su-25 military plane… they brought it down with what, a BB gun?

We don’t have definitive proof yet, but the more that comes out (the social media tweet, earlier shoot-downs) I find the claims by the separatist side that they didn’t, and couldn’t, have done it less and less credible.

    No kidding!

Whoever did this won’t admit doing it ever.

  3. This is what happens when you give SAMs capable of hitting aircraft at 30,000 feet to inexperienced “rebels.”
