Dr. Ben Carson plans to burnish his foreign policy credentials by visiting Friday with Syrian refugees in Jordan, The New York Times reported.

“I want to hear some of their stories, I want to hear from some of the
officials what their perspective is,” the Republican presidential candidate told the newspaper in a Thursday interview. “All of that is extraordinarily useful in terms of formulating an opinion of how to actually solve the problem.”

Carson is expected to make a surprise visit to a clinic and a hospital, among other locales, at the Azraq refugee camp in northern Jordan, according to the Times.

The retired neurosurgeon previously took some heat for comparing some Syrian refugees to “rabid dogs.” Carson opposes allowing the refugees into the U.S. without a strengthened vetting process that would weed out potential terrorists.

  1. Be sure and bring some Chinese food on your visit, Ben…I hear its really catching on there!

I honestly don’t know what he expects to garner out of this visit. Looking sympathetic to Muslim refugees is a sure fire way to bottom out in the GOP primary.

Interestingly, if ISIL were to chop off the good Doctor’s head he’d have a better chance at the GOP nomination…

  3. Haven’t those people suffered enough!

  4. …what he expects to garner out of this visit

Photos for his home’s “Dr.Carson Wall of Fame”, I guess, nothing like some true human destitution to provide a bit of contrast to himself…

  5. You know, if only Carson had just stopped this madness before he even started, he’d be regarded as a hero for this visit to Jordan. He has (or had) strong medical skills that are probably useful to the refugees. But no. He had to destroy his legacy and negate his skills with the unveiling of his rampant right wing insanity.
