The same day Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson threatened to leave the party over scheming to derail fellow candidate Donald Trump, the retired neurosurgeon said he would “never” mount a third-party run.

During a Friday afternoon call-in to Fox News, Carson said while he would consider going back to being an independent, he would not run against the Republican Party, a political strategy that frontrunner Trump has repeated threatened.
