Retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson had a response on Thursday for real estate mogul Donald Trump’s contentious interview that questioned Carson’s faith and medical qualifications: I’m not interested.

“The media frequently wants to goad people into wars, into gladiator fights, you know,” Carson told the Washington Post. “And I’m certainly not going to get into that.”

Trump called Carson, the first surgeon to separate conjoined twins at the back of head, just “an OK doctor” during an interview with CNN’s “New Day” on Thursday morning. Trump attacked his closest competitor after Carson had questioned Trump’s faith.

In the newest CNN/ORC poll, Trump led the GOP field with 32 percent nationwide and Carson was his nearest competitor at 19 percent.
