The U.S. government is developing a new presidential limousine intended for use by the president in 2017, TIME reported Monday.

The new vehicle will replace “The Beast,” a 2009 Cadillac model that currently transports President Barack Obama. It features 8-inch armor plates capable of stopping explosive devices, 5-inch windows, a biochemically sealed interior and extensive communications gear.

The General Services Administration is seeking bids to develop the new model, which is expected to include a new armor design.
