Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) announced on Wednesday that she will support the Iran nuclear deal, sealing a victory for President Obama.
She is the 34th senator to announce her support, giving Congress the ability to sustain a presidential veto of a resolution aimed at killing the deal.
“No deal is perfect, especially one negotiated with the Iranian regime,” Mikulski wrote in a statement, according to Roll Call. “I have concluded that this Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is the best option available to block Iran from having a nuclear bomb. For these reasons, I will vote in favor of this deal. However, Congress must also reaffirm our commitment to the safety and security of Israel.”
Hear that popping sound in the distance?
That’s Republican heads exploding.
Yaaaaay! Thank you, Sen. Mikulski. You proved once again that big bangs come in small packages.
Does this mean I don’t have to watch those scary opposition commercials anymore?
Excellent. I am glad some common sense has been prevailing in the Senate.
I just called her to thank her. I called several this morning before she announced. One of them was Cory Booker who I am so disappointed in. But yes, thank you Senator Mikulski,
This is what I despise about the democrat senate critters. They have no spine and let this president dangle out there with little or no support, giving those scum bag GOPers talking points. This deal is a no brainer and shame on them
