President Obama borrowed a word from rap artist Kanye West’s vocabulary when he gave the performer some advice for his presidential bid.
Obama said that it’d be “cray” for the United States to elect a “black guy from the South Side of Chicago with a funny name.”
West made headlines when he announced at the MTV Video Music Awards last month that he would run for President in 2020. On Saturday, West performed at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in San Francisco.
“First of all, you’ve got to spend a lot of time dealing with some strange characters who behave like they’re on a reality TV show,” Obama said. “So you’ve just to be cool with that.”
Obama went on to reference West’s album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
“Saying that you have a ‘Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ — that’s what’s known as ‘off-message’ in politics,” Obama continued.. “You can’t say something like that. There are a lot of people who have lost their congressional seats saying things like that. You don’t do that”
Obama chuckled.
“Do you really think that this country is going to elect a black guy from the South Side of Chicago with a funny name to be president of the United States?” Obama asked. “That is crazy. That’s cray!”
Watch Obama’s comments:
…FauxOutr-age…simmering.
I keep see the wings on this comment flying over the heads of the GOP,Oh wait they are “BIGGER FISH FRYING”,in their own sauce. LOL!
He does know how to troll his detractors, doesn’t he?
I look forward to him being a former president and having nothing left to lose by speaking his mind – cooly, collectedly, and incisively, like the surgeon Ben Carson once was before he lost his mind.
Our president is simply fabulous.
This President is the coolest, classiest. smartest president ever
