TAMPA, Fla. — As media organizations were reporting that the “mystery guest” in Thursday’s speaker lineup at the GOP convention here is actor Clint Eastwood, the house band in the convention hall began warming up the theme song to one of Eastwood’s best-known films several hours before delegates are expected to stream in to hear Mitt Romney.

The convention band, led by former “Saturday Night Live” band leader G.E. Smith, spent about 10 minutes rehearsing versions of the theme song to “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.”
