File photo dated 10/02/15 of the Twitter bird logo. Since the Badlands National Parks Service account tweeted some facts about climate change Tuesday afternoon, they appear to have been deleted with no explanation.

The tweets disappeared from the Badlands National Park timeline around 5:30 p.m. ET. The National Parks Service media was unavailable for comment Tuesday evening and the Midwest regional office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The NPS apparently had gotten itself in trouble with the administration over the weekend after it retweeted some unflattering tweets about President Trump and his inauguration crowd size.

The Washington Post reported that the Department of the Interior was ordered to stop tweeting Friday, but by Saturday the NPS had apologized for the tweets and was back online.
