Arthur Sulzberger Jr., the publisher of the New York Times, will step down from his post within the next six years, by the time he turns 70, the paper confirmed to New York Magazine.
Times policy dictates that Sulzberger (pictured above) may remain chairman of the board until he is 70, and New York Magazine reported that the paper will likely choose the next publisher in the next couple of years.
There are three frontrunners in the Sulzberger family who may take over as publisher, according to New York Magazine. The Grey Lady is considering Arthur Gregg Sulzberger, Sulzberger’s son, who is an associate editor at the Times; Sam Dolnick, the son of Sulzberger’s cousin who is also an associate editor; and David Perpich, Sulzberger’s nephew, who serves as a vice president.

Me, too!
Sorry I can’t make it to his retirement party - I’ve got a prior engagement that day.
Um, mmmkay. (shrugs shoulders)
Wow, “within the next 6 years”. That’s really definite.
Do I still have time to bake a cake?
