A 20-year-old Arizona man was booked in jail Monday after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend in an attempt to scare her, the Arizona Daily Star reported.
Ramiro Delcid of Red Rock, Ariz. reportedly said he thought his .38 caliber pistol was unloaded when he pointed the weapon at his girlfriend. Delcid allegedly pulled the trigger and fired a fatal round at the 19-year-old woman before he called 911.
He is facing a charge of negligent homicide.
