Democratic West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, who is running for re-election this year, doesn’t yet know whether he will vote for President Obama in November, reports the Daily Mail.
“I do not believe that either candidate has a real understanding of what is important to West Virginia,” Tomblin said.
Tomblin said in a statement that Romney supports policies that would “end Medicare and Social Security as we know it.” But he isn’t a big fan of some of Obama’s policies, either.
“On the other hand, President Obama has apparently made it his mission to drive the backbone of West Virginia’s economy, coal and the energy industry, out of business,” he said. “That will not only hurt thousands of West Virginia families, it will destroy the economic fabric of our state.”
Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who is also up for re-election, is similarly undecided. Romney is likely to win West Virginia in November.
