Conservative commentator Ann Coulter was angered on Tuesday night by South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s Republican response to the State of the Union address, in which the governor criticized some conservative rhetoric about immigrants.

In a series of tweets, Coulter bashed Haley and suggested that Donald Trump deport the governor, who is the daughter of Indian immigrants.

During her speech, Haley took a shot at conservative anti-immigrant rhetoric, possibly a nod toward Donald Trump.

“During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices. We must resist that temptation,” she said. “No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country.”

She declared her opposition to illegal immigration, but suggested it was inappropriate to ban certain groups of immigrants from entering the country legally.

“We must fix our broken immigration system. That means stopping illegal immigration,” she said. “And it means welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion. Just like we have for centuries.”
