Andrew Sullivan, conservative political commentator and prolific blogger, is joining New York magazine as a contributing editor, the publication announced Friday.

Sullivan will cover politics as well as the “larger culture,” according to the release. Sullivan shuttered his widely-read blog, The Daily Dish, in 2015.

New York magazine editor-in-chief Adam Moss said Sullivan has “written some of the more influential essays I have ever had the honor to publish.”

“He also happens to be a true innovator―one of the first and best political writers online,” Moss said in the release. “Since he stepped away from his blog in 2015, his voice has been greatly missed in our national dialogue. I’m grateful that he will return to writing at New York.”

I often disagree with him…but he’s never dull. I look forward to reading him again but I hope my blood pressure can handle it.

  4. I loved The Daily Dish, but I’m guessing the timing of this hiring (assuming it isn’t an April Fool’s joke) has as much to do with his Clinton Derangement Syndrome as his writing skills.
