Fox News legal analyst and Civil War revisionist Andrew Napolitano in a column on Thursday threw support behind Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) for making a “pro-freedom case” by not supporting mandatory vaccinations.
“The issue, according to Paul, is: WHO OWNS YOUR BODY?” Napolitano wrote on the conspiracy theory website WND. “This is a question the government does not want to answer truthfully, because if it does, it will sound like Big Brother in George Orwell’s novel ‘1984.’”
“That’s because the government believes it owns your body,” he added.
Napolitano went on to say that “the states, and not the federal government, are the guardians of public health,” and that under the Constitution (and the Declaration of Independence) people are free to reject “scientific orthodoxy.”
On Tuesday, Paul took heat for remarks in which he opposed mandatory vaccinations and said that he had “heard” of cases of normal children who “wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines.”
Napolitano summed up Paul’s comments as “wise,” and faithful to the “pro-freedom” cause.
Well duh, the menfolk and the church, obviously.
Small potatoes Faux analyst gets major coverage at TPM. They must know this will happen.
No, the governement doesn’t own your body, but it represents the will of “We The People” as a collective to maintain our safety. If you’d like to take actions that will harm or put the rest of us at undue risk, then please feel free to enter the free market of governments and move to a place they don’t require vaccinations… like Somalia, I think?
It will be interesting to quote this guy at the next Pro-Lifers meeting.
Is he willing to apply that same logic to a woman’s right to have an abortion?
