Fox News CEO Roger Ailes’ lawyer confirmed to The New York Times on Tuesday that Ailes was negotiating his departure from the network.
The Times reported that 21st Century Fox, Fox’s parent company, and Ailes were “in the advanced stages of discussions that would lead to his departure as chairman,” citing Ailes’ lawyer, Susan Estrich.
Estrich told the Times that nothing about Ailes’ future at the network had been finalized.
CNN Money had reported earlier in the day that Ailes and the parent company were in negotiations, but Estrich denied it. She told the news outlet that “there is no deal.”
News of the negotiations comes after fired Fox host Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment suit against Ailes earlier this month. The suit reignited headlines on Tuesday after it was reported that Fox News star Megyn Kelly told investigators internally probing the sexual harassment allegations that Ailes also sexually harassed her a decade ago.
Excellent choice of words.
To spend time with an imaginary family?
Among Roger’s parting gifts, a home version of a FOX anchor babe and a lifetime supply of Snapple Lemonade & Tears…
Soooo…anyone else hoping this fails and Ailes rolls over on Rupert?
Sadly he’ll go back to Garrison, N.Y and wreck havoc on the population.
