Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino magnate who backed Newt Gingrich’s campaign, is ready to begin donating to the super PAC supporting Mitt Romney, reports Politico. In a first round of donations to Restore Our Future, Adelson will give $1 million and possibly more. This comes after Mitt Romney sat down with Adelson for 45 minutes at his Venetian Resort in Las Vegas last week.

In addition to helping out Romney, Adelson met with Rudy Giuliani and GOP operative Arthur Finkelstein in new York this week to discuss a new super PAC to help take back the U.S. Senate.

From Politico:

Adelson’s affections — and his cash — have been in demand since the end of Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign, which was propped up by $21 million from his family. Also in the hunt: Karl Rove, who has been in periodic contact with Adelson, who reportedly committed to making a multimillion-dollar donation to either the nonprofit group Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies or its super PAC cousin American Crossroads.
