Singer Adam Levine — People’s 2013 Sexiest Man Alive — is among the celebrities being tapped to promote Obamacare as the law’s first enrollment deadline approaches, Bloomberg reports.

The social media campaign — which will also include actress Fran Drescher (known for “The Nanny” TV series) and actor Kal Penn (Kumar of “Harold and Kumar”) — will launch on Thursday. It will include online videos and outreach on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

The campaign’s goal is 100 million contacts by March 31, 2014, the close of Obamacare’s open enrollment period. The deadline for coverage that starts on Jan. 1 is Dec. 23, which has led to a coordinated outreach campaign from the Obama administration and outside advocates.

The hope is that the initial contact from celebrities will lead to people exploring their options in more detail, supporters told Bloomberg.

“We don’t think that, by seeing a tweet, suddenly millions of people will go get coverage,” said Anne Filipic, president of Enroll America. “Adam Levine’s tweet helps us begin, and then we can have a substantive conversation about what’s available.”
