A man and woman in Decatur, Ala. both suffered gunshot wounds when a gun the man was dismantling while they were lying in bed accidentally discharged on Sunday, according to the Decatur Daily.
Jeff David Massey was preparing to clean the gun when it went off, shooting himself in his left hand and his girlfriend, Tammy Lynn Harris, in her right leg, Detective Joshua Fisher told the Decatur Daily.
The couple was taken to a local hospital and later discharged, police said.
