Two Florida adults have been charged with culpable negligence after a 13-year-old girl was shot in a home where five children were left alone with no adult supervision, News4Jax.com reported Monday.
Trashonda Richardson, 28, and Eric Pearlman, 39, were arrested and charged Saturday, the same day Titania Mitchell was shot and killed inside Richardson’s home by an 11-year-old. According to police in Jacksonville, Fla., Mitchell was the oldest of the five kids in the house.
Richardson and Pearlman were charged with felony negligence for having an improperly stored firearm, a .22 caliber handgun that was used in the shooting. The 11-year-old admitted to investigators that he was just “playing around” when he fired one round in Mitchell’s head, killing her instantly.
