The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld
a lower court’s decision to block Oklahoma’s voter-approved ban of sharia law. The law was approved by 70% of voters in November, 2010, and would prevent the state’s courts from considering international or Islamic law when handing down rulings.

The ACLU and CAIR challenged the law, and sued to block its implementation until the case is decided on the merits.
