As a small group of protesters defied the curfew in Ferguson imposed by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon (D), one person was shot and seven were arrested, according to news reports.

An unidentified man was shot by an unknown individual and was in critical condition early Sunday morning. As police came to the aid of the gunshot victim, the police car was shot at, Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald Johnson told reporters. Police said that it did not appear that a police officer shot the victim.

Seven protesters were arrested for not dispersing, police told reporters.

According to Johnson, police encountered protesters at Red’s barbecue restaurant, after a SWAT team responded to a call. Most protesters left the site when police arrived, and there reportedly wasn’t any looting Saturday night.
