Republican presidential candidate Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said the support of fellow candidate Donald Trump was a “summer of silliness” that will be ending soon during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
Jindal said Trump has done a “great job tapping into the anger” of Republican voters.
“I think after we get past this summer of silliness and insults, the voters are going to begin to look at who is prepared to do the job,” Jindal said. “Who has the intelligence, who has the courage, who has the experience. I believe I’m the candidate best able to do this job on the first day.”
Host Martha Raddatz challenged Jindal on this claim, saying, “Your campaign does not seem to be catching fire at all.”
The governor, speaking from New Orleans, said the race for the presidential nominee is “wide open.”

“Your campaign does not seem to be catching fire at all.”
That about says it all…
But then again, the entire GOTP field is a giant rolling dumpster fire.
After the Summer of Silliness begins the Folly of Fall, followed by the Wackiness of Winter…
With or without the TV “star.”
Piyush is making his bid to be new head clown…
There’s nothing unique about Trump in the Republican field
Paul Krugman:
But Mr. Trump isn’t alone in talking policy nonsense. Trying to deport all 11 million illegal immigrants would be a logistical and human rights nightmare, but might conceivably be possible; doubling America’s rate of economic growth, as Jeb Bush has promised he would, is a complete fantasy.
Jindal deserves one term in the Oval Office. 4 years should suffice to convince every school child in the nation Jesus rode a dinosaur to home school every day.
