I should say that I don’t think it’s healthy for the country to stay too focused on the 9/11 attacks. The dead hand of the past and all that. For too long it’s been used as a bloody shirt to sustain support for misbegotten wars. It’s part of the past that should be remembered, particularly for communities that experienced it directly. But we shouldn’t let it become the centerpiece of our national life as it was perhaps understandably but still unfortunately for many years after the attacks. But this … what’s wrong with people?
