Courtesy of the White House, here’s a photo (below) of a dinner President Trump held yesterday at the White House with what the White House press office called “grassroots leaders.”
Even from the best of politicians, ‘grassroots’ is the most abused of words. But these are the the most establishment leaders in the professional right in DC.
Here’s the caption (emphasis added) …
President Donald J. Trump hosts a dinner Monday evening, September 25, 2017, in the Blue Room at the White House in Washington, D.C., with grassroots leaders, Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America; Tim Phillips, president of the Americans for Prosperity; Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union; Leonard Leo, executive vice president of the The Federalist Society; Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition; Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List; Ed Feulner, Founder and Acting President of The Heritage Foundation; Tim Goeglein, vice president of external relations, Focus on the Family; and Bob McEwen, former congressman and Executive Director of the Council for National Policy. According to The Wall Street Journal’s Rebecca Ballhaus, Trump spent much of the dinner ranting about Jeff Sessions having recused himself from the Russia probe. “You could feel it dripping with venom,” a source told Ballhaus. Trump apparently also told attendees he’s happy with how the NFL issue has “really taken off … He was happy — he feels like he’s clearly winning that exchange.”
Finally, in case you missed it last night, President Trump broke his silence on Puerto Rico by essentially blaming Puerto Rico for its misfortunes and saying, in so many words, that as bad as things are now, the territory was a wreck to start with.
Texas & Florida are doing great but Puerto Rico, which was already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt, is in deep trouble..

…owed to Wall Street and the banks which, sadly, must be dealt with. Food, water and medical are top priorities – and doing well. #FEMA
