The Trump administration has not spent $823 million in clean energy funds approved by Congress, and legislators are getting angry. The money, allocated to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, is supposed to be spent on clean energy grants and other green causes. But, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, congressional Democrats say nearly a billion has been unspent — all as funding for proposed projects has been cancelled and staff positions left unfilled. An assistant secretary for the office testified Wednesday that it intended to spend the money “consistent with both congressional guidance and administration priorities.”
