My dispatch from Orlando out today focused on Florida’s growing Puerto Rican population and the hard work local organizers are doing to teach post-Hurricane Maria arrivals about the mainland’s political system and candidates.

But there’s a countervailing trend in state politics equally important to the booming Puerto Rican and Latino population.
