A second poll released Tuesday out of Iowa put former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the top choice of likely Iowa Democratic caucusgoers — by 38 points.

Clinton polled at 61.6 percent, a major lead when compared to that of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at 23.6 percent.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley polled at 3.2 percent while 10.2 percent remained undecided.

Nearly 70 percent of those polled also said Clinton had the best performance at the first Democratic debate.

The second Democratic debate is scheduled be broadcast by CBS on at 9 p.m. EST on Nov. 14 in Des Moines, Iowa. There are 97 days until the Iowa caucus.

The poll was conducted among 1,000 likely caucus voters in Iowa, 500 of whom were likely Democratic attendees, from Oct. 19 to 22 by live calls via cell phone and landline. The margin of error was plus or minus 3.1 percent.

  1. I like Bernie, but his candidacy was only plausible while the media was airing daily stories about how Hillary was going to soon be forced from the race over her damn emails. So people were looking for a Plan B who wasn’t subject to this sort of nonsense. As soon as Hillary did well at the debate and then trounced the GOP at the Ben Gazzara hearings, it was basically over for Bernie. And ironically, it was partially due to Bernie telling everyone how tired he was of hearing about the “damn emails.”

I may still vote for Bernie, but he’s not going to be the nominee.

  2. “Ben Gazzara” hearings. I  this.
