Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads the Democratic primary race in South Carolina by 22 points, according to a Bloomberg poll released Thursday.

The poll showed support for Clinton at 53 percent, while Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stood at 31 percent.

Today’s poll is the first that Bloomberg has fielded in South Carolina, where Democrats go to the polls on Saturday. But these results are consistent with most other polls of the Palmetto State, which show Clinton holding a commanding advantage even though Sanders has made impressive gains over the past month.

TPM’s PollTracker Average shows Clinton at 57.9 percent in South Carolina and Sanders at 33.5 percent.

The Bloomberg poll was carried out from Feb. 13-17. Pollsters used live telephone interviews to survey 403 likely Democratic voters with a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.
