The White House is preparing to resist several requests from House Democrats by citing executive privilege, The Washington Post reported.

Inquiries related to the process of administering security clearances and President Trump’s meetings with foreign leaders are among the requests the administration plans to reject, aides familiar with discussions told the Post.

White House counsel Pat Cipollone is reportedly prepared to force a sweeping legal battle if Democrats issue subpoenas. Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told the Post that he urged Trump to not cooperate “with any of them” because Democrats just want to impeach him.

“I’d fight it tooth and nail,” he told the Post.
