Iranian Official Fires Back At US After Trump Threatens To ‘End’ Iran

The Iranian foreign minister responded to President Trump’s threats to “end” the country with a threat of his own.

“#NeverThreatenAnIranian,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted. “Iranians have stood tall for a millennia while aggressors all gone. Try respect — it works!”

On Sunday evening, President Trump tweeted a pointed message at Iran, just after a rocket landed near the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. There were no injuries, according to the Associated Press. Officials believe it was fired from east Baghdad, which is home to a Shitte militia group backed by the Iranians.

There have reportedly been an uptick in threats to U.S. personnel in the Middle East by the Iranians in recent days. Up until Sunday, Trump has reportedly pushed for a diplomatic response to the threats and has tried to
