When asked on Monday if there was anything he would do over about his presidency so far, President Donald Trump mused that he could have adopted a “softer tone.”
“Well, there would be certain things,” Trump told WJLA’s Scott Thuman. “I’m not sure I’d want to reveal all of them. But I would say tone. I would like to have a much softer tone. I feel to a certain extent I have no choice. But maybe I do and maybe I could have been softer from that standpoint.”
Despite the stated regret, Trump has ratcheted up his divisive rhetoric in the home stretch before the midterms, averaging 35-45 dubious claims per campaign rally while calling Democrats socialists and baselessly saying that they want to eliminate U.S. borders and turn America into Venezuela.

his remark is, of course, total BS; wanting to have his slime and eat it too.
So what’s stopping him now?
He could have, but he didn’t and he won’t in the future either. Man the bit of his talk I heard last night made me think that this is probably what Hitler sounded like and spoke of.
No, I don’t think this racist is capable of toning down his rhetoric. Besides stealing people’s hard-earned money, racism is the only thing Trump does well. But I appreciate his sentiments.
